Baxter Village

Baxter Village is a community grounded on family land. Land that has been in a family for centuries has been stewarded with care and consideration. To realize its vision for the land that would become Baxter, the Close family, longtime Fort Mill residents and benefactors to Springs Industries, developed "The Clear Springs Plan" to encourage careful growth in Fort Mill. The plan focuses on maintaining a high quality of life while preserving the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The Close family formed Clear Springs Development Company to oversee its 7,000 acres in Fort Mill, South Carolina, located only 20 minutes south of both downtown Charlotte and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Along with Celebration Associates, Clear Springs has made the plan a reality with Baxter Village. Baxter has places to live, learn, work, play, dine and shop, all within a well-planned pedestrian village. A trail system connects and links the community, making it easy to walk to all the parks, community centers, the mixed-use Baxter Town Center, YMCA, the County Library , and elementary school, all situated within Baxter. In addition, with over 500 acres of open space, many streets have their own park, and a formal Village Green is the ideal setting for large neighborhood festivals and events. Baxter's classic homes celebrate a sense of place. Through the integration indigenous architecture vocabularies, Baxter looks like it has been a part of Fort Mill for decades. The timeless appeal of Baxter's architecture makes it hard to tell if it was built yesterday or fifty years ago.
